A UNESCO World Heritage Site visited on this vacation Yellowstone National Park is in the northwest corner of Wyoming, with smaller areas stretching into Montana and Idaho. Known as the first national park in the United States—and widely considered the first in the world—Yellowstone is famous for its abundant wildlife and impressive geothermal features, especially the iconic Old Faithful geyser.
Old Faithful is a cone geyser located in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. Named in 1870 during the Washburn–Langford–Doane Expedition, it was the first geyser in the park to receive a name. Known for its reliability, it erupts about every 92 minutes on average, with intervals ranging from as short as 35 minutes to as long as 120 minutes.
Located in northwestern Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park spans about 310,000 acres (130,000 ha; 1,300 km²). It’s home to the towering peaks of the 40-mile-long (64 km) Teton Range and much of the northern part of the scenic valley called Jackson Hole.
